Concept Art - Hephaestus' Furnace, Shield and Tool Cabinet, Rough Set Layout

The Furnace
This was the main centerpiece of the set which much of the action took place around. It began with a cardboard base, covered in Paper Mache, and then finally spray-on insulation foam. From there I laser cut pieces of wood to act as a brick pattern for the entrance to the furnace, and spray painted the entire thing. Finally, I added LED's inside to mimic lava flowing out of the volcano it is built from.
Props
Hephaestus' workshop offered an opportunity for lots of odds and ends. The shields are a combination of 3D prints and laser cut woods layered on top of each other. the scrolls were pieces of paper, dipped in tea, then rolled up and tied with thread. The hammers and tongs were 3D printed and painted. The shelves were laser cut.

Walls and Floor
The stone pattern on floor was laser cut pieces of wood and paper Mache. The walls were similar to the furnace, expanding spray on foam and spray paint.
